⚠️ Important Update: LISA Reform Consultation Now Live (June 2026)

The government has formally launched its consultation on a replacement product for the Lifetime ISA, now officially named the First-Time Buyer (FTB) ISA. The new product is expected to launch around April 2028.

Key confirmed changes:

  • First-home purchase only (retirement feature removed for new savers)
  • No withdrawal penalty (currently 25%)
  • No upper age limit (currently ages 18-39)
  • Bonus paid as lump sum at purchase (not monthly)

Good news for existing holders: You can continue saving into your current LISA under existing rules indefinitely. New accounts can still be opened now.
